A remarkable Museum is right on your doorstep. Millom Folk Museum, now Millom Heritage Museum and Visitor Centre, has been awarded Accreditation status because it meets nationally agreed standards on collection care, how to govern museum management and the provision of information and services to visitors. Come and see us!

Millom Heritage Museum And Visitor Centre began in 1974, housed in the town's library. Because the amount of documents, photos, and artefacts increased, a new home had to be found. The collection has found its new resting place at the Millom Railway Station. Displays from large to small can be seen documenting the heritage of Millom and its people.

We depict the discovery of iron ore, iron making, rural industries, and the social and domestic history of this small industrial town. There is also a display devoted to Norman Nicholson, Millom's famous poet and writer.
