Millom safe space is a meeting space for all kinds of activities with like-minded people. Run by Mark and Richard on a Monday 11-3pm The space is open to everyone who may be suffering from social anxieties, depression or perhaps have trouble socializing in a group setting. They arrange all kinds of activities such as art and crafts, and cookery and one of the group members organises local walks of interest. Established in 2014 they have been running services at various locations around Millom. They will be moving temporarily to the Guide Hall at the back of the library from 5th September 2022 for 6 weeks. They have an online support page which is private to the members of the group and an invitation to join in is subject to attending the once-a-week gathering. They aim to provide a space that is open to everyone in need of a social outlet and will even provide a lunch for those who require it. Getting out and meeting new people forms part of the human psyche and is very therapeutic in the right setting. Millom Safe Space provides an excellent setting.
