NEW ‘Living Letters’, do you want to say something to someone you had wished you had before, write letters to loved ones past or present, to yourself, to others? It’s not too late, join us on this adventure. Beginning 21st June with Hope & Cope at the Methodist Hall and drop-in Date TBC at Millom Library.

Come along and join us in a relaxed and fun Living Letters drop-in workshop in which participants can explore the sometimes forgotten power of letter writing, of putting pen to paper and giving material form to ideas, imaginations and emotions. Artist Irene Rogan and Susan Allen from the Wordsworth Trust (Grasmere) will introduce you to a series of workshops encouraging you to explore what we mean when we talk of the power of letter writing, be encouraged to write a letter. Materialsn including goose quills will be provided. Finally, the letters can be posted, if they are intended for a named recipient or can be held for reading later.
Some of the activities include:
- an introduction to folded letters, no need for envelopes
- shared reading of materials
- use of quills & inks inspired by the Wordsworth’s letter writing
- correspondence with others – friends, family, local, or beyond!
