ARTS ALIVE
RE Drift- 23 Oct – 15 November Locations around Millom, Haverigg and nearby coastal sites.
RE Drift is a new artist’s collective that brings together the work of Irene Rogan, Julia Parks, and Robert Wilson. Each artist will be making work responding to areas of West Cumbria, from the Duddon to Solway Estuaries. This often overlooked stretch of the British coastline and its inland tributaries serve as inspiration for the artists; each reflecting on its historical, industrial, militarised, nuclear, and natural spaces. Creative outcomes will include sculpture, film, sound works, text and performance. Participatory and community-based activities will allow a dialogue to evolve between the artists, including invited international practitioners, and the local populations to produce unique and challenging works.

Irene will also work with local photographer Phil Green, invited to collaborate on a work incorporating both photography and live installation. This will take place in Millom at a site to be determined. Phil is an environmentalist whose work examines the human relationship with landscape through time.
