Football Round-Up
All sides are putting themselves through pre-season at the minute, with the look towards the season starting again towards the end of August or in early September.
This will be the first time since the pandemic hit that all the teams will be looking to have an undisrupted season and get things back to normal again.
Millom 1sts have already played a few games against Gosforth who they beat and also Cleator Moor Celtic, and their 2nd team also have a new manager after Tony Woodburn stepped down from the post and Greg Waters has taken up the role.
Haverigg 1sts and 2nds alongside Bootle have also started their pre-seasons and will be getting underway in friendlies
shortly as I write this piece.
In news away from the clubs, former Workington player Liam
Brockbank has a new club, after he signed a deal with Lancaster City.
Brockbank had spent nine years in the Carlisle United youth system before making the switch to Workington where he had a successful time before Covid struck and derailed the team’s promotion bid.
Martha Allington has also signed for Manchester Women in their academy after having a spell with Blackburn Rovers previously.
